Who is the data controller?
The data controller processing your personal data through this website is the University of Cyprus as the coordinator of the Project.

What personal data do we collect and for what purposes?
We may collect personal information about you such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address when you contact us by filling out our contact form and provide us with any such information. We may use this information solely for the purposes of responding to your inquiry.

Where and for how long do we store your personal data?
Your personal data is stored on our servers and on the servers of the cloud-based database management services we engage, located within the EU.
Information provided to us by you when contacting us with an inquiry, will be retained for 1 year since our last communication with you, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. 

With whom do we share this personal data?
We may share your information with other organisations providing data processing activities to our organisation such as IT support and our cloud services.  Additionally, if required, we may share your information to governmental/regulatory/law enforcement agencies or other third parties provided that such obligation is based on national or EU law. 

What are your rights regarding your personal data?
Access: this enables you to request access and receive information regarding the personal data we hold about you.
Request for rectification: this enables you to request to have the data we hold about you to be completed or corrected.
Request for erasure: this enables you to request the deletion of the personal data we hold about you.
Restriction of processing: this enables you to make a request, in certain situations, that your personal data are only used for specific purposes.
Object to processing of personal data: this enables you to object to the processing of your personal data
Data portability: this enables you to request to obtain a copy of the personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or the transmission of your personal data to another controller.

We will endeavour to respond to any request as soon as possible and no longer than 30 days from the receipt of the request. In case where we will not be able to respond to your request within the aforementioned time period or in case your request is rejected, we will inform you accordingly explaining the reasons for any delay or for rejecting your request. All rights can be exercised free of charge.

How do we protect your personal data?
As part of our effort to prevent any unauthorised access or disclosure of your personal data, we have implemented physical, technical and administrative safeguards. We also update and test our security technology on an ongoing basis and we restrict access to your personal data to those employees who need to know that information to provide our services to you. In addition, we train our employees about the importance of confidentiality and maintaining the privacy and security of your information. We commit to taking appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce our employees’ privacy responsibilities.
