Chalmers Hosts Working Group Studio on Research Excellence

Chalmers University of Technology recently played host to a pivotal event in the TWIN2EXPAND project’s journey towards research excellence. The Working Group Studio on Research Excellence, held online, served as a platform for intensive collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts in the field of Environment-Behavior-Design-Planning (EBDP).

Led by Meta Berghauser Pont and Gianna Stavroulaki, the three-day session brought together researchers from across Europe to review and advance ongoing research within the project. With a focus on enhancing the scientific impact of the TWIN2EXPAND initiative, participants delved into discussions on methodological development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and avenues for societal impact.

The studio, which attracted experts from various strands of EBDP including design theory, spatial analysis, urban analytics, and sustainable development, aimed to establish a unified conceptual framework for EBDP. Through collaborative efforts, researchers explored ways to inform the project’s research activities and produce scientific outputs that will have a lasting impact on the broader scientific community.

As the TWIN2EXPAND project progresses, the outcomes of the Working Group Studio on Research Excellence are expected to play a crucial role in shaping future research directions and fostering innovation in urban studies.
