Virtual Training: Introduction to evidence-based urban design and planning

We are excited to announce the first Virtual Training with subject: Introduction to evidence-based urban design and planning (EBDP) taking place online on the 26th and 28th of April 2023.

This 2-day Virtual Training will introduce the specific role of spatial analysis that supports the design process with evidence through analysis. After completing the training, participants should be able to explain what evidence-based urban design and planning (EBDP) entails, what its background is, how it is used in practice, and what is the role of spatial analysis and other analytical methods is in the EBDP process. Furthermore, participants should be able to explain how the urban environment can be modelled and analysed with regards to its network centrality, accessibility, and density, and in which ways they impact social and economic processes in cities, using theories and quantitative methods central to fields of urban morphology and Space Syntax.

Participants: The Virtual Training will accept up to 40 doctoral candidates in the field of Architecture, Urban design and planning or a related field. Participants need to be affiliated with one of the consortium partner institutions. Master students can register and can be enrolled if there are available places.
