Space Syntax Paid Internship

The Society and Urban Form Research Lab of the University of Cyprus through its TWIN2EXPAND project, offers a paid internship for a PhD or Early-Stage Researcher at Space Syntax Limited in London for June 2023.

The internship will take place between June – July 2023 providing professional mentoring to the internship recipient, who will be trained through real-life ongoing development projects, gaining the latest skills required in the industry and experiencing the work environment of a pioneering enterprise applying Evidence-Based Design and Planning (EBDP) in professional practice.

The internship programme offers a unique opportunity to experience Space Syntax’s evidence-based approach and to work on a wide range of projects across cities and regions, property developments, buildings and estates. The internship recipient will join Space Syntax’s project teams, be directed by a senior member of staff and mentored by one of their consultants.

The successful candidate will present their progress to Space Syntax colleagues at the end of the internship as well as the Society and Urban Form Research Lab team back in Cyprus.

Eligibility: PhD Students or ESRs (in the first four years [full-time equivalent research experience] of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree) enrolled or affiliated with the University of Cyprus.

Internship duration: Between June 2023 – July 2023 for a period of 50-90 days.

Renumeration: This is a fully funded opportunity. The internship recipient will receive renumeration for a return flight between Cyprus and London and additional funding to cover accommodation and sustenance to cover the internship period. The intern will be expected to submit a full daily record of their work and progress and present the outcomes of their internship at the Society and Urban Form Research Lab team back in Cyprus.
