Dr. Martina Crapolicchio

Martina Crapolicchio is an architect and holds a PhD. She currently serves as a Research Fellow at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy), within the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD). Following her Master’s degree in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Turin, where her thesis focused on mapping and designing fragile territories in Italy, she collaborated with several architectural firms in Turin, engaging in architectural design across various scales. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Transitional Morphologies Joint Research Unit (Southeast University Nanjing – Polytechnic of Turin), actively participating in international conferences, seminars, and teaching endeavors, particularly focusing on topics related to the study of urban form. Her doctoral thesis explored the development of urban coding systems in relation to urban form, with a specific emphasis on historical Italian cities. As of January 2024, she holds a position as a Researcher collaborator in the European Horizon Project Twin2Expand at the Polytechnic of Turin.
