Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) was the first Italian Engineering School, founded in 1859. Engineers, architects, designers and urban planners have been trained at Politecnico di Torino for over 160 years. This long ever-changing history has rated Politecnico among the top European technical Universities for education and research, with over 37,000 students and a teaching staff of more than 1,000.
The Department of Architecture and Design DAD is one of the eleven departments of Politecnico di Torino, seat for the fields of study that investigate the art and science of design, both in architectural and urban buildings and in product design. It hosts the Joint Research Unit TRANSITIONAL MORPHOLOGIES. The Research Technology Transfer and Innovation Department (RIMIN) supports researchers to identify competitive funding calls and to apply through successful research projects offering specialized teams and ad hoc tools covering the entire project life cycle.
